Specification & Schedule
This aspect of a commission is key to the success of any garden/landscape design. A carefully prepared document is provided to ensure the quality of the scheme and that it is correctly priced from the outset.
Our schedule of works lays out in detail all aspects of the design, down to individual costings of each element of the works. Without this information, the client is left exposed to unknown cost, the contractor to financial errors and, from experience with clients who have not followed this route, a disappointing end result.
With this aspect of the commission, combined with the detailed design drawings, all parties have a greater understanding of what is required, therefore providing client security.
The schedule not only specifies the maintenance of the works during practical completion but also the all important 12 months’ defects period. We always strongly recommend to clients that the appointed contractor is retained for a further year, in the event of any aspect of the works not being successful or any plant failure, as this cost will be down to the landscape contractor, not the client.
