Landscape Masterplan
The landscape masterplan is arrived at following a series of meetings with the client, the architect and other consultants, as well as site visits. Once a layout from the architect has been commissioned, we then look at all the site constraints. This, more often than not, will take the form of existing trees on site and their constraints, ecology and its impact on the site and the eventual aim and use of the gardens. Screening will often play a part in any garden, be it from car parks, surrounding area or to form part of the overall garden. All these constraints are taken into account when undertaking a landscape masterplan.
The gardens would, when ever possible, be divided up into smaller spaces for the eventual users to move around the garden through out the day. This division of the garden spaces, allows for different activities to take place throughout the day.
Whilst some local authorities require full detail design to form part of a planning application, our experience has shown that a carefully considered and well laid out masterplan design meets most authorities’ requirements.
