Private Gardens - The Design Process
The design approach is simple but clear, to the benefit of the client. After the first meeting and obtaining the brief, Tim Lynch, upon appointment, then undertakes a detailed survey and analysis of the site. On large projects, external surveyors are appointed, to carry out a measured and level survey. Once this has been completed, a sketch concept scheme of ideas for the garden is then prepared for discussion and a masterplan, as laid out below, is prepared.
The detailed design follows, either as a whole or on a section by section basis, depending on your needs and budgetary requirements. Again, after your approval a detailed specification and schedule of quantities is prepared. This is key to any success for a garden. A detailed specification sent to recognised, professional landscape contractors will ensure a competitive price is obtained. Should this need amending, it can easily be done without compromising standards. Also, this allows a clear working relationship with the contractor and, should amendments or alterations be required, these are easily itemised, costed and approved by the client, for complete financial control with no hidden surprises!
If required, Tim Lynch will fully supervise the works, oversee construction and verify invoices. The client will pay any contractors, sculptors, water specialists etc direct and leave the challenges to Tim.
