Commercial Landscape - Bar End, Winchester
This development puts ecology and the environment at the forefront of design. Built by a Dutch charity, these units are being built to help individuals back into the community. Designed as working/shop/apartments, residents will have an opportunity to obtain work experience as well as having a place to sleep and socialise before returning back into the community.
The company involved has placed landscape as a key element of importance, with green roofs, ecology in the form of bats and birds as well as a wildlife pond. All associated planting equally reflects this philosophy of encouraging a wide and diverse ecology. This highly environmentally friendly building is the first of a wide programme by the company involved throughout the UK.
